Officials and members of the Bong Professionals Network (BON-PRO) have commended President Joseph N. Boakai for signing of Executive Order #131 (EO #131) which called for the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia.

Bong Professionals Network is a non-governmental professional organization organized by sons and daughters of the county with the same ideology of moving their county forward through programs and activities that will help in contributing meaningfully to the developmental agenda of Bong County.

The President’s decision is based on a Joint Resolution recently signed by the 55th National Legislature on the establishment of the court in the country. BON-PRO executives described EO # 131 as essential to the development of Liberia, especially giving hope to those who lost their families during the 14-year bloody civil war in Liberia.
The signing of the EO #131 by President Boakai is a process that will deliver judgment and closure on the tragic situations that occurred during the Liberian civil crisis.

They however acknowledged the historic move by the 55th Legislature in bringing justice to war crimes victims, ensuring that those alleged perpetrators do not go with impunity.

They further indicated that the signing of the joint resolution by both the Houses of Representatives and Senate also indicates that the Liberian people have spoken through their direct representatives; something they said cannot be opposed by the President’s office but signed said document (s).

The Pro-democratic group said President Boakai’s signing has firmed his government’s commitment against injustice, stressing that they do not doubt that the Boakai and Kung government decision will restore respectability and integrity in the Country.
